    Default Vs side door moulding

    Evening all

I'm replacing my door moulds with calais style moulds, and wondering if u really really need sikaflex to hold them on? I have some industrial double sided tape that sticks like shit on fur. I hate cleaning off sikaflex!!!!

Has anyone replaced theirs without sika? Or Would double sided tape and say 8 dots of sikaflex instead of a continuous bead be enough?

    Cheers

I reckon you'll be right with the double sided tape as long as it's waterproof. even some contact adhesive would do the trick. Sikaflex is just overkill that they used to piss you off. I know the moulds on the bumpers of my car were only held on by some tape and a little bit of glue.

have you got an original set of calais door mouldings?

if not i put this on my car.
i know its not original. but the size of it (19mm) is the exact size that fits in the channel around the front bumper.
and down the sides it looks pretty legit. (so long as you get it straight)
also depending on where you live it would be pretty easy to go buy it directly with cash

how about we make the pedals out of sticky rubber and the shoes with steel spikes. at least my shins would like that

Ur not wrong about pissing u off, spend half a day clean the backs of the moulds. 2 of the 4 just had tape, the other 2 had tape and sikaflex. I hate sikaflex but I don't want them falling off.
