hey just a quick question.
had a look and search, couldnt find what i needed.
hopefully once some stuff arrives i want to remove my VS Ute bench seat.
i was wondering if anyone knows how it is held in?
or even if you have a diagram with how to get it out, you would be a legend.
and also any tips/tricks for putting it back in
if your wondering i have some sound mat for the backwall to cut out the fuel pump noise (its seriously right behind you, thus = noise)
you cannot move the passenger/middle seat forward so it needs to come out for a proper job.
and no its not a dodgey pump, its brand new =P
and side question.
to remove front drivers seat its just unbolt from the rails or remove the whole seat completely?
Thanks in Advance.
hey mate,
drivers/ passanger seat 4 bolts on the floor, there allen key bolts and you'll need to do the spanner over the end trick as there bloody tight, slide seat forward do the back ones slide seat back do the front ones, one of the bolts is hidden under a bit of carpet.
checked both my manuals on the vs nothing about the center bit of the bench seat might come out with the passenger seat perhaps?
thanks for that.
it should definately help with the plans =P
now to buy the carpet. and get prepared for the job ahead on aus day weekend (now have all sound matting)=P
You will also need a good trimming knife and decent sissors if you buy an aftermarket carpet as they come with no holes for seat bolts and gear lever footrest etc. I just fitted new carpet in my VS ute [plick of a job]. You will need to cut the carpet to fit at the back and sides [door trim mouldings]. Looks good now though.
Have fun, regards
ok so bringing this back up.
had a really good look and found the 4 bolts you are talking about on both the drivers and passengers sides.
the middle seat is just attached to passengers, without any other bolts.
but the passengers side doesnt have a bar to move it back and forth obviously because it would affect gear changes thanks to the middle seat.
is there any way it can be moved back and forth just for taking it in and out?
i wasnt able to see the rear bolts in the passenger side so could it require taking off the pastic trim below the seat?
and if so how does this plastic trim come off?
Thanks
EDIT:
had a look, and because the passenger seat cannot be moved forward the allen key bolts are not accesable.
but because i can "fold" seat forward the rear wall is accesable.
also moving the drivers seat all the way forward allows easy access to rear wall.
although its like a contortionist act to do it, i guess its easier then trying to pull it all out.
