I recently purchased a used diff (axle to axle) to replace my failing diff. After removing the old one, transferring the park brake gear and half bolting the new one in, I realised that the lower shock absorber mount was different. The original one was a bolt type of setup with the bolt facing to the rear of the car while the new one seems to be some sort of bracket requiring a bolt to be inserted from left to right.
I am presuming that the person I purchased the diff from sold me one from either a sedan or another model with different shock mounts. Has anyone come across this before and/or have a solution?
Cheers!
You can turn the shocker around to suit.
Thanks for your reply woteva. The way it is configured means that it can't be turned around. The bracket is vertical but the shock comes down at a 45 degree angle.
sounds like a sedan diff? the shocks mount straight up and down in a sedan.
Sedan diff. You can swap the internals over from it to yours if you are confident enough.
