ok so my vs recently started stuttering, i replaced leads and plugs but still didn't fix it, then i put some fuel injector cleaner in my petrol and a couple hours after when i was driving it, it started running properly again without the stutters and also my heat gauge seemed to have dropped aswell, does this mean i need new fuel injectors or would i get away with cleaning them and also could the fuel injectors have anything to do with the heat
generally the car is run rich to help it run cooler, the cleaning seems to allow that extra bit of fuel in . wouldnt change your injectors just yet. my car is leaned out a shit load and it runs a fair bit warmer
shouldn't matter how hot it is, in standard closed loop it'l be aiming to run at 14.7:1 fuel ratio, sounds like you just had a gummed up injector, see how it goes, perhaps run a few 98ron tanks through to help clean/unclog the system. Id do a fault code check just to see if anythings in the system Checking error codes VR/VS (Revised)
If your injectors are more than a few years old and you are not too sure about their condition, then its probably worth replacing them anyway. Ive been using these injectors shown in the link below, they are just cheap ones, but theyve made an excellent improvement over the old ones with how good the car starts and runs and with the fuel economy.. They probably wont last as long as the bosch brand injectors, new bosch injectors are twice as expensive as these ones in the link, but at the price of these cheap ones, who cares, just buy more cheap new ones again in a couple of years if they dont last, so what, I might get 5 years instead of 10 out of them..and by the time 5 years is up, they usually need replacing again anyway to keep the vehicle running at its best..
Ive been running mine now for around 10 months or so, and theyre still running as good as the day I fitted them. I reckon I would have saved what they cost me just from the better economy theyve given me...I run injector cleaner once every 5000 ks, just to help keep them new and cleaner for longer..Check them out below, and they are brand new, not reconditioned/remanufactured rubbish.

I did actually do an error code check, but the engine light just kept flashing? maybe i was doing something wrong, but i was following that tutorial you posted (using a staple instead of paper clip), and yeah i think im just gonna go ahead and get new injectors/pump, as far as my engine running a bit hot i suppose it subject due to not having a thermostat?
Brett which injector cleaner do you use?

Usually I use nulon brand injector cleaner. Ive also used some cheaper suff a few times when I couldnt get nulon, it was calibre brand injector cleaner from supercheap. I just add a full bottle to around half a tank of fuel.
I also only use 98 octane fuels, and they are supposed to contain "extra stuff" that keeps the fuel system clean. I usually change my fuel filter every 10,000 k's as the filters only cost around $10-$15, and its only about a 5 minute job. Its suprising how much crap comes out of the used filters after doing just 10,000 k's. The recommended service interval for the fuel filter is 40,000 km or 2 years.I reckon it would be just about completely blocked by then. Once the filter starts to get blocked up, I reckon it loads up the fuel pump too much which then shortens its life.. Its probably why so many people have fuel pump problems with these cars. After fitting a new pump to my VS when I first bought it, I havent had one problem with it in 7 years. I always run it right down to empty with the fuel light on and the low fuel warning buzzer sounding. I always hear that it will kill the fuel pump in no time by running below half a tank of fuel. I reckon it would have happened to mine by now if running it low on fuel caused any problems.
