my compressor started making rattling noises when the clutch on compressor kicked in .Looks like the rivets in the clutch are rs.can they just replace the clutch or do i need another compressor.
Being 16years old and not knowing it's condition prior to obtaining ur car, I suggest u get a fresh compressor. Should outlast ur time owning the car![]()
The front end of the compressor is easily replaceable....I'd get a compressor from a wreck and remove the clutch assembly after checking first that it was OK. Should be able to be replaced with the compressor in the car.
This is the cheapest way - new comp is $450 plus regas $200 = $700 whilst comp from wrecker is $50 and no regas necessary but that is your choice.
