hi all
first post...seems like a silly question but here it is
can a vp v6 sump (sheet metal) fit a vs series two v6 eco-tech engine?
....reason for asking..yes i am a holden freak and own many a commie over the years..vb-vc-vl-vp-vs
..but this eco-tech is going into my vauxhall viva which currently has a vp (late) v6 and auto installed...as i got the vs engine and matching auto cheap (silly chick across road lost control in her vs 1996 v6 executive so i brought to whole car off her cheap).reason for change..more grunt with out going for the blower on the shelve
my vp sump is heavy modded to fit the vauxhall..and the normal alloy eco-tech sump has to go.
thanks in advance mike

my ride: 1976 vauxhall viva 4 dr currently vp v6 powered
yep will fit only issue is the steel sump has a hole for the oil dipstick while the oil dipstick goes thru the block on an ECOTEC
hi
thanks for the quick replysPlease post some pics
all info is helpful
here some pics of the modded sump....please note one of many mods just to get the v6 to fit the engine bay without cutting the firewall...mounts..headers..brake booster...and of course major wiring change in the engine bay area.
the pic of the engine in the bay is of my mock up car (now sporting a holden six (149/header/350 carb/5 speed).

dipstick not a issue..in fact works out well as old vp position was in the way of the headers/steering system

Awesome. I've had 2 HA Viva's.
Many people don't realise they are the first Torana.
There is something quite special about them but it's hard to explain to people.
Yes the hb torana (aboriginal for "to fly")was just a re-badged vauxhall hb with diff nose cone/headlights ......... not into the early ones ha/hb too much of a shoe box for me ..
a few hb vivas around nz are now v6 3.8 commie powered at lest two are super charged..mine will be when i have time.only know of two maybe three hc vivas with the same motor...and of course a zillion holden and chev v8 powered ones
