I can get a vs clubsport roof which has been cut off at the pillars with everything still in the roof for $100. My question is, how hard would it be to put into my vs myself? Would it be worth it? $100 is a fairly good price for it..
It's only the roof of your car, what could go wrong? lol..
id pay someone to put it in, if you are providing the parts it might be cheaper!
Yeah when you put it like that.. Lol. Na I don't want it that bad. Just saw it cheap and got an idea. Does anyone know of anyone doing it themselves before?
Yeah haha i had a mate who tried it... long story short his VN is now a cube... haha cutting the hole is easy enough its more the location, he set his back slightly to far and it would jam on the roof so he tried to space it and then it wouldnt seal and to make life so much worse it had a trim ring for the roof and it was warped from getting it off the old roof and nobody could say weather they could make a new one.
IMO you are better off buying one new if you are going to try it yourself because there are some important parts that may bend and not fit if there are used again. Get some advice of a professional first and try a few practice runs on scrap steel. Pop us are easy as pie but electric sliders seem to cause alot of issues
