Holden Commodore VS wont change from third

Hello,
I own a 2000 VS Commodore "Olympic" edition ute and it seems to be stuck in "limp" mode. When i turn the car on the engine light seems to stay on for a period of 10 seconds (im aware it comes on for a bit on start up but this is unusually long from previous starts" and then turns off, as i drive everything drives fine until over 100kmph when it is supposed to change to the last gear, but is staying in 3rd. I have all other gears. I have checked the fault codes and it recoded the 12 which is everything is fine, checked transmission ect and im out of ideas. A hint may be that it seemed to happen within close proximity of me putting in a new radiator as the old one had a hole in it, but cannot be sure if this is linked.

Any help would be great as i am not the most mechanically sound person around.

When you flashed up the error codes, did you let the test go through for a minute or two as it will flash up code 12, 3 times before flashing up any logged error codes.It will also flash up code 12 again at the end of showing you any logged codes. This can sometimes be confusing when you are new to the error code checking proceedure.. When the engine light comes on for whatever reason whilst you are driving, there will be an error code logged in the ECU and this code will flash up unless the problem has somehow fixed itself and the ignition switch had been turned on and off 50 times, or if the battery has been disconnected.Disconnetcing the battery for a minute or two will clear any logged/set codes. Whenever problems occur and you find codes have been logged, its best to disconnect the negative battery terminal to clear any old logged codes, and then drive the car again to see if the codes return at all, as sometimes codes can set from a "one off glitch in the system" and not from an actual problem.
