I bought a cheap VS II ute to paint and sell. I strated it yesterday and it sounded like it was only running on five cylinders. As it had been in a yard for several months, I thought I would let it idle for a while. After ten minutes, my neighbour came and told me the car was affecting his TV reception!... I went in and had a look, the screen was all pixelated. I stopped the car and bingo, problem solved. When I started the car again, the problem recurred.
Any suggestions?. Got me stumped.
Sounds like the flux capacitor has started leaking.

Sounds like it has spark plugs with no resistors in them.
Ngk do resistor and non-resistor versions of their egv plugs. Its a known phenomenon that putting b9egv plugs in 250 2-strokes trashes peoples reception.
Thanks Wraith, shame there are no DeLorean dealers in regional NSW...
As said by BowTie could be your spark plugs

Definitely an ignition problem and your neighbour's reception issues are a sign that you have leaking voltage between coils and the spark plugs.
Replace leads and plugs and you will be right, and of course so will your neighbour? (I wouldn't mind betting the issue is going to be a lead.)
Or track down which cylinder isn't firing, replace that lead and plug first, if engine runs fine then see how your neighbour's reception goes. If you don't want to spend too much the car.
Yours Kindly,
Jim
Thanks, I'll give that a go.
