    Default 1994 vr statesman computer

I have had some trouble with car long story short but a new battery in after putting in new alternator and starter . I stuffed up connected battery wrong so in turn stuffed alternator and range engine light comes on , car started stalling and take off from lights seemed like stuck in a low gear I think I have stuffed computer , I can buy a ecu ( computer on eBay ) off a 1994 vr executive , my question is , is the ecu computer the same in a statesman as the Calais, executive etc , is it same part number ????

I'm just guessing, but I'd say that as your Statesman is (presumably) a V8, that an Executive ECU for (presumably) a V6 will not work. Maybe someone else can tell you for sure.

Different part numbers but essentially the same ECU, BT1 being the exception.

Why not check the fault codes yourself first?

Is that correct? - the ECU for a V6 is the same as a V8? (presuming his Statesman is a V8)

I'm gonna ring a golden dealer tomorrow and find out . I assume the computer might be the same ( all v6 ) as I have been told many parts from vn right trough to vt are the same . I can but a vr executive computer of eBay way way way cheaper then genuine , so just wanna find out if the standard vr executive computer will go in my vr statesman

VR V6 ecu's are all the same bar the RFI shielded BT1 unit. VN-VP ecu's are the same.

Has to be a computer . I replaced tarter motor, alternator and alternator was good charge but batt was stuffed so I put a new batt in but stuiped me put wrong terminals on and wires smoked and horn started . So I blew the abs fuse and my cd player stopped working . Since then the alternator only reading 11.2 and I was driving today and orange engine light came on and just went weird so I think I have stiffed my alternator and my computer

Matter of elimination now then. Lucky the part's are cheap-ish to replace.

Vs III and VT V8 and VS-VT V6 on are different to VR as they have extra gear for sequential injection.
FWIW a 1990 pulsar or even Camira ECU will fit.
So yes all VR ECU are same bar the BT1 radio shielded ECU as stated.
