Hi Guys, gave my car a coolant flush on the weekend and noticed a small hairline crack in the radiator.Reading other posts it seems to be in the same position and is common, anyways at the wreckers today and looking at the engine bay of a car notice a sticker by the radiator by the looks of it the radiator was installed in 04/11 next flush due 04/12.So i took the radiator out and had a good look over it and it looks in perfect condition, there was bright green coolant around where the waterpump had been taken off and around the top of the radiator. Im just wondering if this radiator would still be alright to use, could it of dried out or rusted inside while no coolent was inside, by the date on the window the car has only been there 2 weeks. Thanks for any replies
I would have no problems using it but to be sure, hose it out first, then fit it and fill the system first with straight water and nulon flush, follow the directions and then refill with coolant.
Brand spanking new radiators are on Ebay for $89.99 delivered.....

I fitted an Adrad radiator from ebay (Nationwide Auto Parts - $89.99 incl delivery) a month ago and it looked OK to me. And I fitted another unit from ebay into my son's Lexcen 3 years ago and it's good so far.
I fitted a Chinese one over 2 years ago and no problems...they do have a guarantee as well. Back when I was a kid, we used to say the same about Japanese products.

it's probably worth $40 in that case and you proably won't go too far wrong with it. just check inside its not full of gunk or scale .... but i don't think you can see much at all through the spouts.
4 years ago new one's cost about 150. They are OK but not as good as genuine by a long way.
