Hi guys,
My baby was involved in an accident thanks to the flatmate using it for shopping and it has a rather bruised face. Everything has been replaced and when i received my new front bar - A VS touring car front item, i have found that the 3 mounting points in the mid section of the top of the bumper is sagging.
I suspect the bumper was removed from the mould too quickly and there is a 4" sagging gap.
Does anybody know if its possible to use a heat gun to slightly re-adjust cured fibreglass? I cant get a definitive answer from anybody
Thanks in advance.

Was it a insurance fix job? How long ago and can you take it back or ring the insurance company and them it's a crap job.. A pic too if you can?
It wasnt an insurance job. The way it happened is that a guy ran a red light, panicked, and braked in the middle of the intersection. My housemate was a p plater a despite brake upgrade he couldnt stop in time and hit him side on. The guy just pissed off and left my mate there. No real witnesses and i get told by the cops later that day, it would be the fault of my mate, not the other guy.so i did report it, but its just a backyard job.
The front bar was pushed in, demolished and nearly cut the transmission cooler in half which pushed the ac condenser into a concaved mess and even the radiator was slightly bent but no damage to the cores, just a section 2" x 1" squashed fins.
Front left radiator support was slightly pushed in but was fixed in 15 mins. Needed new lights and blinkers and globes. Everything is now replaced but the front bar as i was trial fitting it matched up with the headlights and front quarters but not the middle section in between the lights. That section has sagged. I dont really wanna pay $80 to get it shipped back to queensland if i can help it
Hasnt been painted and is still in gelcoat.
I dont think you cant heat it up and move it because the epoxy resin sets, if you heat it and keep heating it, it will burn.
My ride-VS commo, Just finishing the manual conversion. Working out those annoying bits!
Thats what i meant, apparently it depends on what sort of resin and what temperature its cured. So i really do need to send this front bar back...![]()
Yeh I found out the hard way its better to send things back rather than try fix it, AND I STILL HAVENT LEARNT!!

This is all the work so far. I have left the bar in the sun the last couple of days and when i tried to fit it again today, it actually got much closer, like 2". Im wondering if i can make a rig so i can "stretch" this section as it lays in the sun. What do u guys think? The last pic is what it used to be like... Any thoughts?
Im actually quite proud of those brackets... Had a length of 1" strip and used a jigsaw to cut it length ways and then polish the sides off nice n rounded n then bent them accordingly. Took a couple of hours but im happy :P

I would send it back.. Only other way i see and its a huge job is to cut the bar and pull it in and reglass is and then try to get both sides to match.. sending it back is eaiser tho
