Whoever fitted the rack probably didnt centre the front wheels first by adjusting the tie rods. Could be why the steering feels different, as these P.S. racks use a variable ratio rack ,which means they have a different ratio when off centre.(17.2:1 at the centre ,and 11.8:1 at near full lock). Either that or the steering wheel just needs taking off and recentering. Id take it to a wheel alignment place and get them to do an alignment on it and get them fix the off centre steering wheel at the same time. Its suprising how little the wheel alignment has to be out before it starts to effect the fuel usage and how the car drives etc.

i just checked it everything is equal in adjustment so they should both be the same on either side but the wheel still left a 1/4 turn and the steering is heavy and dosent change if i rev it up or not.

It could just be that the steering wheel needs removing and recentering on its splines if the tie rods look to be equally adjusted. Im not too sure about the heavy steering though. Do you get any power assistance at all? Or is it just a bit heavier than normal?

Just disable the airbag first by removing fuse number 18 from the fuse box under the steering column. It cant go off then. Dont turn the ignition switch to the ON position whilst the fuse is removed ,or whilst the steering wheel is off, or it will log an SRS error code and the SRS dashlight will come on, and the only way to get these codes cleared is with a tech 1 or similar scantool ..
