    Default Recent mods cause...

    Hi guys,

This afternoon i fitted a MACE CAI and a 70mm TB.

Straight after i started the car and all was fine, idling fine. I give the throttle a stab and it has a hiccup before revving up. When i say a hiccup it pauses for split second.

The other thing was the engine light was on.

I havent checked for error codes yet but what could i have missed? I sealed the TB to the manifold, even used loctite master gasket, connected the wiring and hoses...

    Im stumped!

Its because of the larger TB. You will need to get your car tuned to suit it. Im betting your code will be low TPS voltage

If that is the case, will it hurt anything or make things worse? should i just put the old TB back on until i order a tune?

Codes that were spat at me is 12 and 22.

**L67 you were indeed correct, it is a low voltage TPS. Next questions is how can i fix this and will it affect my fuel economy and/or power? Will it hurt my engine until i get it fixed?

    Fenix_Longbow,

Before considering any memcal upgrades, did you put the plastic sleeve on the end of the shaft on the throttle body for the TPS? Please refer to the instructions below if you're unsure

    http://www.maceengineering.com.au/We...TALLATION_.pdf

90% of this time this is usually the problem

    Please keep us posted

    Cheers,

    Good point Steve.

To the OP, If this isn't the case, Driving it under normal conditions should be ok although you may get some erratic idling intermittantly.

I wouldn't recommend doing any WOT runs though just incase.

A tune will fix all if Steve's idea isn't correct.

My old throttle body didnt have no. But i went to the wreckers and found one of these sleeves with a washer and spring aswell. Brought it back and went to put it on but it wont fit. The sleeve is the same size as the metal tab that you are supposed to slide it on.

Im guessing that its down to the tune now?

How much do MACE charge for a tune? And is there any cost difference between them and The1 or Delcowizard?

    Cheers
