Hi need some advise on changing a dizzy module on a 5L, Can it be done in the car or does the dizzy have to come out, also if the ignition breaks down for some reason like a faulty module will this cut the fuel pump out.
The ignition trigger module for a V8 is mounted on the passenger side strut mount and is easy to replace. However, I assume you are referring to the Hall Effect sensor in the distributor. You need to remove the distributor because there is bugger all clearance to do anything with the distributor still in place. You will need a "crows foot" socket to undo the distributor retaining nut due to the lack of clearance. You can purchase the socket off eBay (link below) or elsewhere.
