hey guys,
just a quick question. i have searched but cant find a answer. I currently have a l67 with a getrag behind it. know i want to convert it to a solid flywheel with a heavy duty clutch. i have seen complete kits on ebay for around $900 with a standard clutch and solid flywheel.
my question is can i source my own flywheel out of a t5 v6 and throw it on and also purchase a heavy duty clutch kit? i have looked around and it seems alot cheaper to buy the flywheel and clutch kit seperate then buying the complete solid flywheel conversion. i no the t5 flywheel will bolt straight up because its 8 bolt like the dual mass and i may have to get it mirror balanced to the original flex plate.
any other info would be great.
cheers, Anton
Yo man im getting an exedy solid flywheel and hd clutch thrown in my v6 vy 5spd this weekend.. Been quoted about $1400 for everything flywheel, clutch plate, pressure plate, thrust bearing, spigot bearing and most likely a clutch slave... And about 300 labour.. Pretty expensive but driving it a decent distance this weekend and the thrust bearing is stuffed and the dual mass flywheel has been rooted for a good 6 months..
Keen too see how you go with yours.. Lovin the blower on your vs btw.. Seen pics on fb.. It's timbo btw, braddons mate..
Cheers bud,
Timbo
