    Default Vs commodore ecotec oil leak

    Hey guys i just bought a vs commodore off ebay
    for a car to get me to and from tafe
    got a really good deal on it

    she starts easy and engine sounds good no rattles etc
    i changed the alternator cause was ###ed
    when i noticed this!

    just wondering where it could be coming from before i take it to mechanics

    could be either rocker cover or the intake manifold gaskets. also im not sure bout the vs but my vr has a short hose coming off of the throttle body that goes onto a lug in the top of the engine. dont know the correct name but it has oil in it when you take the hose off and look straight down into it. the hose may be leaking and there might be to much pressure and its forcing the oil out. IMO

    mate use some degreaser n clean engine bay... then run ya car n see exactly where it is coming from.... if you are unsure of the area it comes from take a closer pic... i had a vt ecotec for bout 9 yrs mate they are tough engines....

    i just took a close up look... actually i wouldnt even worry unless its dripping when hot on ya driveway mate..... as i said they are tough engines..

    Yeah my vs ute had the same problem. The rocker cover bolts just need to be nipped up or if that doesnt work new gaskets.
