I just noticed today the seller TRX100 has put up some stage4 chip for sale on trade me. they are an Australian seller. Can anyone vouch for their work? they clam a 15-17kw gain.
Im tempted to get one but they are cheap and I dont fancy burning any holes in my pistons.

You should try searching. There's a whole thread on ebay chips.

Just read his feedback first to see what people say about them. Theres only so much that can be achieved with mail order tunes. A live tune done whilst running on a dyno is probably the best way to go. It also costs a lot more. With the standard V6 engine, a tune should make a fairly noticeable difference to how responsive the engine is at low to mid revs. It should also be better on fuel if its done right, and if its got an auto trans, the shifts can be sped up slightly and firmed up a bit. Theres a few people on here who can do up a decent tune for you.I stopped doing tunes for people because I had trouble getting hold of spare memcals.

Yeh I have read them, but I wonder if anyone here knows the seller. Im only brought this up because for $10 and they are saying you can get 15-17kw out of it seems like a have to me.
I already have a after market memcal btw, I found the thread "ebay chip Q&a" it diddnt work

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Enough said.
Stick with those that are known in the community (delcowizard, The1, MACE etc) and you cant go wrong.
If it has stage anything then it's a poor tune. I doubt you will notice anything more then excessive fuel consumption if you put it in.

Just had a look at this guys feedback. It shows theres plenty of people who are happy with the work he does. They might be worth a try.At $40, theres not much to loose if it turns out to be no good.
Its not that hard to learn how to do your own tunes, a little bit of an outlay for the gear needed to read/write to the memcal, and the programs used to do the editing are free. Just gotta do some reading first to get a basic understanding of what needs to be edited etc.. It took me about a month or two to learn enough of the basics to start experimenting with my own tunes. Delcohacking is a good website to start at if you want to learn about this stuff. Delcowizzid was a big help to me when I was starting out..

I'm pretty sure doctor bob actually tunes this guys chips (or at least used to), then this prick sells them as his own.

I studied the memcal/eprom thread here thoughly but from what I gathered it was very difficult to write the VS v6 memcals. Obviously people do like your self. I presume there is a thread about it.

Its like most things ,it always seems hard at first until you get in and have a go,then it gets easier. Im certaily no computer genius.
I would like to get into, but more about the shift points side of things. but its cheaper to just buy chip than to buy the eprom programmer, I down loaded a copy of tuner pro but I cant even really use it without programmer. I wanted to try write some codes up just to muck around with it but nooo. lol

you can load up tunerpro and change stuff around on a bin file no problems just get a bin and xdf for your model or whatever you want to muck around on. In the holden section as a sticky on delcohacking, for the vs v6 ive spent quite alot of time getting stuff defined only a few thousand things to play with![]()
Stay away from TRX100 (previously known as blackstar7000)........
MY WEAPON: http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/...ng-10-psi.html
NEED 3.9 or 3.7 DIFF GEARS, PM ME IF YOU KNOW OF ANY
Don't use trx's chips
They made my vs worse....engine always pinging etc
Got the mace tune and was perfect
Biggest waste of money IMO
TRX's tune is identical to Doctor Bob's tune, as TRX stole the tune off Doctor Bob and now sells them as his own whithout even changing anything in the tune.
Seeing as Doctor Bob made the tune I guess it cannot be all that bad right?
How do you know that Rob?

Question is what is the tune based on? Without knowing that...?

If it is a copy of Dr. Bob it is very poor I`ve had one of Bobs.
Car ran smoother but my Delcowizzid is better.
