cracked rim

hi guys i have a crack in one of my rims just woundering how would i go about fixing it its aftermarket rim and alloy not chrome cheers

I would go and see a metal fabricator about getting it repaired. But im unsure of the legalities of this. While welding is the basis of joining metal it also creates a point at where stress fractures are certain to occur.

The rim will more than likely need to be balanced as well after repair.

My thoughts but i could be wrong.

although it can be repaired as stated above no guarantee it won't crack again, alloy isn't a simple thing to weld, any chance your rims came with a life time warranty and you still have the reciept? unless it's a rare and really expensive rim the best bet is to get another.

Theres also no guarantee that the aluminium will weld. Some castings dont like to weld.

My mate had his wheel welded but it kept cracking in the same spot, best bet would be to buy a new rim if you are able to.

ok yer i dunno bout life time warranty as they come with the car and its a mrs racing dunno how rare they are or where they sell them
