Default I got a goss fuel pump, should i change as herd there shit???

hi i got a goss fuel pump a few years ago (maybe 4) as it went on special down to 55 bucks from 140 and i was going to chang it on my vn at the time but sold the car..... anyway it was sitting for a while and about 1 and a half or so years ago i decided to fit it to my vs for good measures as..we all know, its common for the factory pumps to fail. Drove over 2000 k's the next few days as was going for a long long trip up north and was fine and been fine ever since, however ive been reading ALOT about the goss pumps being absolute shit!! now i have done about 25 000k's or so since putting the pump in the car and nothing has happened and it hasn't skipped a beat. BUT it was and is still noisy, its making a high pitch ringing sound that can be herd it you stand beside or behind the fuel tank, otherwise its fine. Im after peoples input as to weather i should change it to a lets say..bosch or genuine or just leave it as it is as its working fine ATM??

thanks...sorry if this is a dumb question

    Hi jas
Just curious mate...where have you been doing all this reading up on Goss fuel pumps...was it all on here?
'Coz I'm responsible for a few negative posts about them on JC...which as it turns out...may be unwarranted.
I bort a new Goss fuel pump and put it in but had further troubles so thought it was the pump...turns out it's probably a poorly connecting power lead to the tank.
So I feel a bit guilty now...should've waited 'til ALL the evidence was in. Anyway, I'm going to fix those posts back to impartial 'coz I have no personal evidence that they're bad pumps.
Good thing about GOSS is that they're made in Melbourne (I think)...not being racist or anything but seeing 'Made in China' on a product rarely inspires much confidence in me.
We should buy Australian stuff at every opportunity.

Anyway, in answer to your question...I'd leave it in there and see what happens...as you usually get a bit of warning when they start to fail - and the changeover is not a pleasant job.

There's a few comments about Goss in my thread here...

Sell these all day long and as with everything you do get the odd one back from warranty but not very many at all. They are a good factory replacement pump and I wouldn't be worried about them.
