Howdy,
I discovered that my fuel pump power lead (the four pin jobby that plugs into the fuel tank assembly) isn't connecting properly.
With the relay bridged, so it gets power all the time, I can turn the pump on by pressing the left (earthing?) side of the plug.
It's very, very touchy...moving the lead around or simply touching the clip will invoke the pump.
I cleaned it up as best I could and bent the left pin a bit...seems to have helped but I need to fix it properly.
Someone told me about an spray to help electrical connections...should I try that???
Should I keep trying to bend the pins or just buy a s/h FP assembly from the wreckers? - which I don't really want to do.
The blue rubber dust cover fing is present and seems okay...I get the impression this aids location and snugness of fit?
Any ideas greatly appreciated...cheers.![]()
Just bend the pins until all connections are tight.
Thanks NAAFan - nice to know I'm on the right track :-)
would be better to retension the pins in the plug. there should be a spring part in there.
it won't be the fuel pump side, it will be the car side.
