I have a slight problem, I start my car and there's a slight ticking noise under the bonnet, if I turn the aircon on it gets louder. Wat could it possibly be and how can I stop it??? Also my aircon works fine but when I go up and down hills it stops working
hrm, open the bonnet and use your ears to locate the area the "ticking" noise is coming from, it could be anything on the drive belt... tension pulley bearings, water pump, ac compressor bearing, just making more noise when the belt is under more load....
Why would the aircon die while driving up and down hills?
VS will cut ot the A/C compressor if the throttle goes over 80% open IIRC, but I doubt that is your problem.
The ticking noise may be the hydraulic lifters and gets faster with the A/C on as the idle will be slightly higher.
You need to be certified to work with A/C gasses so I would recommend you take it to a specialist.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
I've been told it might be the aircon comp bearing, is it was a lifter the noise would go away after abit wouldn't it?
