VR hard to start but runs ok HELP

Hay,
I have a V6 VR that just does not want too start. They only way I can start it is on gas with the accel peddle pressed half down then once started rev the crap out of it for about 30 secs then it idles and run Ok once started on gas I can switch to petrol and it seems to run and idle fine. I have replaced plugs and leads and checked there is plenty of spark, also cleaned throttle body IAC and PVC. Check all hoses for leaks they seem fine. Also put in a new O2 sensor. The computer says no faults. There is not much left to change or check that I know so please send ideas my way.

does it blow black smoke once started ? sounds like your fuel pressure reg is leaking fuel into the manifold ?

It blows smoke at start up and when I rev the engine. To test the reg is not the problem can I try and start the car on gas with the fuel pump relay removed so no petrol is at the reg ?

Id say leaking fuel injectors, i had same problem with a Vn i owned.... many moons ago.
