Knock Senor WHAT ????

Hey blokes

I have a 1994 VR Statesman 5Litre and have brought a HSV Chip and it requires a Knock Sensor ??
So i now have a HSV 185 Chip and a Knock Sensor
Now what do i do ???
ive been reading that you wire the knock sensor to the ECU ?? But my knock sesnor doesnt have a wire ??
Where do i mount the knock sensor ??
the chip installing seems easy take out the standard one and put in the the HSV Chip
the only thing is the wiring of the knock sensor
do i just make my own wire??
is the a standard one there?

If you run on 98 octane fuel you shouldn't need a knock sensor.

Thats not entirely true. I run 98 and a knock sensor on a engine running 10.7 comp, think of it as insurance agaist dodgy fuel.

You install the knock sensor on either side of the engine, the side with the most clearance from the extractors. You need to remove a bung and install the sensor, wiring kits are on ebay and you just add a pin to your ecu connector.
