If you go to the "How To" section on here and look for the thread on switching an engine cooling fan on manually, started by immortality, about 3 or 4 pages in, you will find both the operating temperature range for the V8 and the resistance specs. (across the two pins) vs temp. for the engine coolant temp. sensor. That and a $20 digital multimeter (>10M Ohm input impedence, not a really cheap one) will give you what you need.

with mine i put a Davies crag therm'o cap temperature reader, works wonders 100% accurate at the radiator,
and ran an after market temp gauge in the car, your original vh one would be way out.
green coolant i used from supercheap they all are really the same, are you running thermo's or the standard fan?

i think the standard therm'o kicks in at 110c don't it?
u will know if shes getting hot, you're engine light will come on at a set temp.(being in a vh there would be one rigged up some where)

stockers run Fan ON 107c and fan off 101c for low speed fan that's for VN Spec, though it doesn't really matter just keep it above the opening temp of the thermostat, if your running 91c thermo then run 106c 100c, the usual test is go for a run on the highway and see what it sits at with no fans on, this is your normal operating temp to aim for which should be close to your thermostat.

    Late reply .

The operating temp., at least for VT V8, and the temp. vs resistance data for the EFI sensors so you can figure out what temp. you are running at, is in the thermo fan switching "How To".
