Thumbs down Sounds like its firing off 5 cylinders. DFI module??? Coil Pack???

So yer basically as the title says, when I drive my commodore it sounds like its firing off of only 5 cylinders, expect it happens pretty randomly as well. Not always when I put my foot down but sometimes.

Its not the spark plugs or leads because I changed them, and its not the fuel filter getting blocked becasue I just replaced that this morning and it still sounds the same.

My only guess's now are maybe fuel filter / DFI module / Coil Pack

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

I would suspect DFI and/or coil pack.

Unlikely to be a blocked injector...

i would change the dizzy cap and rotor... get a new coil and fuel filter because there cheap

if it still does it borrow a mates ignition module and try that

then if all that fails check all injectors
    If in doubt......FLOOR IT!!!

But still very possible, as my VS had a blocked injector.

Test the coils for good spark, if they are sparking fine along with the plugs and leads then start looking for a dud injector.

What I did was unplug the connecter on each fuel injector one at a time while the motor was running. The one that made no change to the idle was suspect so I checked the spark plug and the coil for spark. If they were ok I then checked the injector.
In my case the injector was completely blocked....
