    Default Speedo wiring

    Hey guys

Before anyone jumps down my throat i searched before posting this..

Anyways i finished putting my ecotec into my VR its all up and running good but the speedo wasnt working due to not being connected.. So today i went into this thread The complete Vn-Vr Manual Conversion Guide. and wired up my speedo the exact way it says.. But my speedo STILL doesnt work. any advice on why its not working??? Also if it helps the speedo was working perfect before i put the ecotec in…

    Cheers

No it has the VS auto computer with a mace memcal and the vats erased. Also have about 15 other error codes.. (auto codes) will this effect it at all?

if it's a T5 then it wont work on a auto computer as it's missing components to read the T5 sensor. See link VS Manual vs Auto PCM you will also need a manual tune or can use auto tune with VSS switched but just easier to use manual tune. I have done some auto to manual pcm's in the last week by adding those parts but yet to hear back if it's working reliably. Finding a manual pcm is rare or expensive. If your interested then pm me i can let you know how the converted pcm's go.

But i wired it direct to the speedo like it says in that thread because it says the dash can get a signal but the computer cant or will it still not work this way?? i didnt wire it into the computer. Its not the standard memcal its a mace memcal

And to answer the op if you got the mace tune yourself did you tell them it was for an auto ecu on a manual box because if not then your still at square 1 u need the auto functions of the ecu disabled or an adapter to convert it but of you have the money get a manual ecu

I'm not to sure on that you either have a wire problem still or the cluster is playing up

Sounds a bit dodgy if I was going ecotec I'd strip all the wiring and put all vs in but we will wait for now and wait for the1 to give some more input lol as for now if it's a car your driving all the time use a gps to track speed

Ok I'm gonna have a stab in the dark try switching the manual sensor with the auto one and make sure the manual cogs are on the auto sensor and see if that works
