I have a vr 3.8 with pacemakers, twin hi flow cats to a 2.5" straight through with a single resonator and it crackles heaps. I think the extractors are the main part that gives it that crackle

Fitting extractors and a high flow cat will make it crackle. It will never sounf like an Audi or a Golf though.

I can send you the extractors and cat for $595 shipped.

Any decent exhaust will do, catback will suffice, its all about the gearbox mate. Manuals get that nice crackle pop from the low gear high rev downchange. or if u really want it on an auto, dropping it back a gear 10km/h too early, youl work out sound to speed ratio.

its all about the trans, sure u can downshift in an auto but 1) its not good for the auto and 2) it just doesnt sound the same. yes extractors and exhaust are required

Why has no one pointed out its the unburnt fuel? At times mine will crackle, other times i will get massive whip like cracks, almost identical to my mates old VX SS that had work done, pacies and a full stainless x-flow exhaust.

    #### your tune up, get crackly exhaust.

I dont know what to do with this thread. Leave it open and troll it because frankly, ive had a bad day.

...or just close it because im getting absolutely fed up with threads that get filled with or are about complete nonsense.

You drive a VS V6 and you want your car to pop and crackle...like an Audi.

3 inch exhaust, no cat, no resi. Whack it in second gear and cruise your local street. Will pop and crackle, it will sound like absolute arse, but itll get the job done.
