I've just brought a t5 5 speed that was in a vr berlina and I want to bolt it into my 96 vs acclaim s1, it has irs but not sure if I can run the auto diff on a 5 speed and not sure on what else I'll have change
Hmmm was it getrag in the first place??? If so then you will almost haft to do a whole another conversion because you will need to change stuff like pedal box, tailshaft, clutch cable etc also wiring also yes you can put a 5speed against the auto diff

i have all that but i don't have the vs flywheel but not sure if the vr 1 will bolt on
Yes VR flywheel will bolt on but you will haft to get it balanced. i just did this to mine but stupidly didnt get it balanced and now the engine vibrates when i rev it. its ok at idle but anywhere between 2000 3500rpm it shakes a bit so make sure you get it balanced

You will also need the manual starter motor
I'm about to do this exact thing. Where and how do I get the flywheel balanced? because auto doesn't have a flex plate to balance it to does it? So what do i get it balanced to? i have a getrag flex plate if that helps... and will any vn- vs manual starter work? Sorry for hijacking thread..
Yes the flexplate is the auto flywheel.. You will haft to get it mirror balanced (i think they call it) to suit the auto flex plate. You cant machine a dual mass flywheel tho so you could only do it if your using a solid flywheel.. Yes any manual starter from vn vs will work. Im using my VR starter on my ecotec. also you can get it balanced at a clutch place

So I can take my auto flywheel and manual flywheel into a clutch place and ask them to mirror balance the manual one to the auto one?

Thats exactly how it works. Take your clutch/pressure plate in as well when getting it balanced.
