Was a stinking hot day in melbourne on cup day so i used my aircon on the way back from the beach.

20mins later i pull a LEFT turn and a good 1lt of water fell out from under the dash onto my feet !!!!!!

how can this much water just be chillin in the dash???

and it happened over and over and now its starting to make the carpet smell!

its happened before but the amount of water this time was extrordinary!

does anyone know wtf is going on?

I would guess that the guttering that directs the mositure from the air con is busted, thus the water from the heat exchanger is not being let out of the car. To check park your car on the flat with the air con running an see if water comes out the bottom.

No idea. I'd take a look at a gregory's or the like and see how to dismantle your dash to get to the offending bit.

In the meantime I suggest going for 2 windows by 100km/h air con as the last car I saw this happen on the water got into the wiring and killed the ecu.

Put the car up on axle stands, crawl under with a plastic cable tie, and you should see a couple of rubber tubes in the transmission tunnel. Poke at 'em with the cable ties (don't use anything metal or you'll poke a hole in the evaporator unit) and see if that clears the blockage.

Is the liquid that is spilling out hot? Or cold/room temp? If it's hot it could be a leaky heater core..... If it's cold it should be the condensation and most likely the drain tubes are plugged.

Cheers,
DP

you cant hit the evap im pretty sure on those boxes so use a screwdriver if you can get it up the hole. you want to wreck the little steel triangle thingo which is on the inside of the drain hole. i guess holden thought it would keep the drain hole free of muck but it only helps clog it up.

I also had the problem you are describing, i got under the car and cleared a few drain pipes from the air con near the transmission, clogged with crap. Cleared her up and now she works fine, without cold water running on my leg

They should be just above the middle of the auto. They are black tubes coming from within the car.

Hope this helps.
