Diff, Wagon, non IRS back axle, how much oil does the housing take it's getting noisy on drive and have just spent a fortune on other parts for it.
I know to get a manual would be simple, but cash is low.
Having used Nulon in the landcruiser gearbox and finding the stuff nothing short of brilliant, I have to ask how much oil the housing takes ?
The rubber plug filler is this a sight hole also or just a filler, and is there a simple way to remove the plug or is it just as easy to fill it from the drain hole.
What is a newbie worth and what ratios are available, or is their just the one ?
Just fill to the bottom of the filler hole.........can't help you with the rest , sorry.....
About 1.7 Litres to the bottom of the hole.
I'd did mine a few months ago. Just unscrewed the whole thing and droped the old oil into a drain pan. Give it a bit of a clean and check everything it alright in there. New gasket and reassemble. Pull out the rubber filler and refill from there. I use Castol LSX90 (if I remember correctly). You may want to use gasket goo or similar if you pull the housing off for a more secure seal than a paper gasket. Hope this helps
Thanks fellas.
