getting some work done to the vs 5L ute. the mechanic has told me 1200 bucks for pacemaker extractors, twin cats???(dont know wat that is), and changing my 2.1/2inch exhaust to a 3inch? just wanting to know if that was a good price and what twin cats are and what they will do?? he also told me it would all give me about an extra 20-25kw?

Yup, thats about spot on what you'll pay else where...

Twin cats is just two catalytic convertors in your case connected to the headers then merging into the 3inch, similar to the photo below..

why would ya get a big fine from having only one cat

where they are placed if you only had one then there would be a pollution problem as only one of the pipes is getting the exhaust gases turned into vapour so if you got a defect for anything you would ahve to change your setup

might get about a 10rwkw
you get a great note out the back end, its an easy way to get a few more kw i spose.
