The tranny will tend to hold gears for a little longer as well.

and on the highway use econ and your rpm will be alot lower therefor saving fuel... at 100 my car sits at 3000rpm, but in econ its more like 1700rpm

it is quite possible for a VS's rpm to be different. mine revs a little lower and the fuel economy is extensive.

its interesting to note that a VS V6 manual will sit above 2,000rpm / 100kph
whereas a auto sits at 1750rpm / 100kph

if you were to drive a manual VS and an Auto VS on a long drive you would find the auto more efficient.

around town the auto will use a bit more but, as engine revs do not equal road speed there being some slippage in tranny, and because shes a fluuid coupling you have to accelerate that bit harder to get her away.

i'd also take into account how accurate ur speedo is i've noticed that at around 90-95 power is lower revving then econ, but at 100 econ is better...just the different gear change points...
