I second that...

Meguires ROCKS!!!

Just go to your local Super Cheap Auto / Repco / Sprint Auto and look at the extensive Meguires range. There are even colour specific polishes you can get which will enhance your colour even more.

Gold Step 1,2 and 3 is just another 'gimmick' (not a bad one!), or range of products they have.

Otherwise a respray if it is really that bad...

giv it a good wipe with kerosene and then a good wipe over with brasso, itll turn up paint into a look like its been treated then giv it a wash and trap in the finish with a wax and ur set for a couple of yrs u just need to keep washing it, trust me its done magic on mine, (brasso will get surface scratches out, kero will get stains like water drops and bird crap off)

Good advice from VR-3800...Brasso is the s**t...I've been using it for years now. It gets scratchs out like magic, finish up with a high quality polish and your paint will really impress.

Don't waste your time with commercial stuff. Meguires, Turtlewax etc.

Real boys & girls use industrial stuff. Read below for basic trade secrets in polishing;

STEP 1 - You can use either 3M PERFECT IT III rubbing compound [part # is 051131-05933] to get those mild to light scratch marks out or even better but more expensive you can use a brand called Farecler [i think i mispelt it slightly but pronounced the same] Farecler make different compount grades but i forget which grade it is for mild to light scratch marks. I have been out of the trade now for 4 years but i know they still use it. The 2 products are generally used with buffing/cutting machines but are also good at cutting out sections by hand as well.

STEP 2 - Get those swirl marks & that cloudy wax look off the duco & give it a deep wet look by using the best hand polish there is on the market. It's Aussie made & owned & it's called GTI Extreme premium high gloss polish. Easy to use & non silicone based.

So there you go with only 2 easy steps & the right products handed straight to you. This stuff like any other polish on the market is not foolproof so your always best off knowing how to apply polish to your duco.
Two main rules for starting are - Rule # 1 *don't do it in direct sunlight & Rule # 2 *make sure the duco is not too hot when you apply it. There are more rules of course but i don't have enough time to tell you cause i have to get back to work.

You won't find these products at Autobarn or Supercheap though. The products i mentioned are available from Preston Motors Group in Melbourne who supply the smash repair industry. They have trained reps who specialise in automotive paints like PPG & Glasurite etc. & also with polishes, waffle pads & virtually every other product used in the automotive industry like genuine spare parts etc. Very competitively priced against Holden Dealers sometimes cheaper.

You can contact Preston Motors on [03] 9359-3999 or check them out on the internet www.prestonmotors.com.au.

You can contact GTI Extreme directly on 1800 032 650.

I hope this info comes in handy
