What were these out of? what was done to them?

it is on the 5.0L engines isn't it? (or 4.9L i guess)

Is it the clubby, hsv, senator? what?

I know the SS's had 185 in the VR and 195 in the VS...

I'm looking to get a nice V8 and was originally hoping for a gen III, but price range over the 20's might be too much, a factory 215kw on the other hand is some handy nuts to work with...

someone help?

The 215i engine was used on the VS HSV GTS and some VS HSV Senator models. Basically it's a 5.7 litre engine with a twin catalytic converter exhaust.

04 HSV VY update Avalanche
it's a stroker motor 5.7l hydrollic cam i think it was too. it's also very de-tuned so if you pick one up it's easy to gain a fair amount of power from a good tune

The 215i 355 5.7L Stroker engines were introduced in the VR and were on some VR Senators, a few caprices and all GTS models, it was carried throughout the VS Senators and GTS models all the way to the VT S1 Senators.

hmmm.. so essentially at the same level if not better than the LS1's?

cool, well, i wanted the same sort of output standardish like post 1999 v8's, looks like I could be ok, going VR or VS senator/hsv...

hmmmm... maybe if I could fine one under $22,000 with less than 200,000 on the clock it would be nice..

why the hell are all the GTS's in homebush!? Why are there none in brisbane damnit!

anyone with a senator or gts let me know, I wanna buy it! :p

WH Grange/VS Caprice S1 5.0
As above

215 kW motor was in Senators, Grange, (both optional 185kw standard), GTS etc in the VS HSV Range.

it is a 304 engine with a stroker crank taking it out to 350 or 5.7 litres. It is my understanding that not much else was done to them, other than the usual (nice chip, cai etc like the 185kW HSV engines) and the increase in torque and power etc is strictly due to the capacity increase.

Drive one back to back with an LS1 if you can. The 215 kW is a much MUCH better engine imho, the LS1 is all revs and fury, the 215 is a gruntmeister.

Pay's your money, makes your choice

:)
