Hope someone can help me with a problem I’m having with a rear electric window on my VS Calais. It still goes up and down but has started making a grinding, crunching sound that is louder on the way up than on the way down. I took off the inner door trim and greased the central rail but that didn’t seem to make any difference. Am I up for a new motor or is there something else that can be done? Don’t want to be caught in a situation where the window is down and I can’t get it back up.

sorry no offence intended

did you ever consider the possibility that maybe you don't know how to use the window?

are you pushing a button or trying to wind something?

yeah, definately ur power window motor, the back ones always have problems cos they usually dont get the work out that the fronts do.
aint pricey or nothin,a new motor will cost u next to nothin...and if ur half technically minded u could fit it urself no worries.

Yeah thats gonna need replacing also a quick fix i had the same problem with a mates car, we took it out opened up the motor and cleaned it up, it was full of gunk and dirt that helped it for a while but it ended up shitting itself about 2 or 3 weeks later. Shouldn't leave a large dent in your wallet replacing the motor.

Cheers Brendon
