straightaway? like no delay between lock and unlock? sounds like one of the doors isnt closed properly. i know when my drivers door is open, it wont lock.

strange problem mate.
does it do the same thing when u lock with the key (not using the central locking button).also has ne one stuffed around with the car lately?
anything installed where they might have taken door trims off and screwed something up.
cos if they didnt reassemble it right the thin rod that is connected to the lockin mechanism might be out of place or something along those lines.

A long shot is to disconnect the battery and leave it for 10 or 15 mins and reconnect. This can reset things.

Mine did the same, it was the central locking accuator (spelling?). Replaced it and is now fine.

Faulty Central Locking

I had a lucky escape car door locked but due to alarm fitted it alerted me that it unlocked by itself.

It turns out one door latch was sticking when locking and it caused the whole lot to re-open.

If the latch can fixed may sort problem however the rod that pulls the mechinism may need CRC or replace the unit that drives it .

I once had the same problem with my brothers vp calais. If i remeber correctly the lock shaft had over turned and wasn't rotating all the way around. It will most likely be one of the front doors, you will have to take the trim off and see which one is having the problem. You will also have to peel the plastic covering off, try not to rip it wouldn't be a huge problem if you do but just try keep it neat... Im not 100% sure that this is your problem but i can guarentee you the problem is underneath the trim. As 7NIGHTS said it is something to do with the rod either not turning the way it should or it is getting caught on something. Fill us in on your progress.

Cheers Brendon
