VS Transmission

I need a service kit for my v6 auto transmission
I hear there are 2 differant types
How do I find out what type I have?

I had the same problem earlier in the year when I serviced the transmission myself for the first time. Generally speaking the series 1 vs is meant to have a shallow pan and the series 2 have a deep pan. I think the only real difference is the shape of the gasket. My local repco said I could take both home just in case and the one I didn't use I could return for a refund... provided that it was unopened and I still had the receipt. Hope this helps a bit.

I've got a series 2 (Feb 97) and it takes the shallow pan. I found mine was very tight and difficult to remove and left the seal stuck in the transmission - had to remove with a bent piece of rod.....though mine was original (at 110K).
