dif replacement?

hey guys, since i bought my vr about six months ago (when i had stereo and windows down) i could here a noise as i accelerated. any way i changed the dif oil soon as i noticed this noise, seemed to still do it, so i didnt think any more of it.. but today, i pulled up in my driveway and opened roller door (damn manual lifting !! lol ) and i accelerated and i noticed sort of a grinding noisecomming from the back :| does this sound like a dif on its way out? and if so how much am i looking at for a dif its a vr v6 auto

aparently it may be a wheel bearing, ill get checked out asap

mmm mine makes a nice whine at 60km/h but I would say bearings would be the go. who knows maybe your car has just racked up one too many miles hahaha.

I know mines on 228,000 :S gotta get her serviced and have the brakes checked [ not squealing but I wouldn't mind getting some life expectancy guess out of them ]
