Sometimes when I start the V VR Stateman it feels like I've dropped a piston or 2, last only for perhaps 1 km and then runs just fine??
Also just lately seems to want a little more time to start.
Give me some of your expert opinions, they will be appreciated.
Also has anyone brought one of those wires that plug into the laptop and read the cars computer? ASL or something.
If you drink and drive
you might spill some
them cables off ebay, i woodnt worry about them as you woodnt no wot all of it means :P most mechanics will run there computers through ur car for free or a small fee, well worth the money.
but it sounds like your fuel pump or fuel pressure, get a fuel pressure check done, maybe book a fuel pressure test and get them to hook computer up at same time ?
but also you can check for error codes to..

give ur car a nice good servise new oils and everything souns liek shes takin some bad oil too, i had the same prob with my old vk new oil and fuel filter and she was great, use penrite 20w 60, holden spesifies 20w 50 but this 20w 60 is like the 50 but better and high perfomance, u pay about $30 for 5 litrs but its well worth it like they say OILS AINT OILS
i use that magnetec stuff, its like 10w 40 i think, but i havent lost any oil and its still honey colourso its all good
if it feels like its dropped a pistons or too, i would be putting new oil in it wharst the point???
if its dropped 1 piston it would run like shit i meen real shit and if it dropped 2 it would explode lol its fireing on all pistons but the firing must b stuffed, just take her to get looked at, no messin around
Get a compression test done, it sounds like you have a coupla hydraulic valve lifters that are blocked or worn out.
(I am assuming here that you have the 5 Litre V8 and it has a fair few K's on it, they were notorious for this fault, in fact, all the plastics were when they have a coupla huundred thou' on em.)
If it is the lifters, DONT just replace the lifters, replace the cam as well.
New lifters on an old cam will stuff the lot.
Hope this Helps,
