The gearbox inhibitor switch will be on its way out. You can either put up with it or get a new one. dunno about the cost, but if it goes, you'll have to short it till you can get a new one in

its the little switch.. mine had the same problem

i had to wiggle the stick to get it to start.. there not to hard to replace, just remove the console and covers around the transmission and its a little piece that sits at the bottom to tell what gear your in.
not technically minded on this one..

My old VS used to do this too. Apparently really common problem. Pull the stick all the way down to L then back to Park and try to start it again. Also, you may want to try putting a bit of backward pressure on the lever as you turn the key, sometimes that used to do the trick for me too.

    Default park sensor

well what u need to do is get a new or 2nd hand parl sensor, which stops u from starting it in gear and crap like that, pull out the ashtray remove 2 screws holdin the sensor on and unhook it from the gear lever and put the new one in and bingo she should start in park again
