    whos put a pod in a VS .... ?

i got a vs series 2 and wanna know what to do with the sensor actually in the box

my mate just got a VU ute with a huge pob on it he kinda had a custom bracket from the pod to the intake tube and on this braket they relokated the sensor , can you buy these or do you have to make them custom????

hope some one can help, and yes i know about the hot air and all that but i still want a pod!!

easy to do yourself, get some like 1-2mm aliminium sheet and cut a strip of it like 2 inches wide and wrap it around a part of ur intake wrap it around and onlt otself a bit then drill a hole in the end wraped over thenmake it nice and tight and drill through that hole, through the aliminum underneath and into the intake pipe, makesure the hole is bigenough for the sensor to fit in and slide it in there and clip it in place, the sensor will work as a pin to hold the aliminum in place and the sensor itself, but realy y do u want a pod, cai and pad fighflow K&N so much better i rekon, thats what i have

    no.literally put it inside....
free up some slack with the wires to the sensor then place it inside at the bottom of the pod, just past the lip where it drops off to the actual filtering surface.
i put some electrical tape around the intake pipe to hold the wiring at the desired length then put the pod into the intake pipe as normal.
    too easy,as i said,works a treat

    umm,i dunno mate.
i just had a k&n pod which i bought for my vn calais and swapped it onto the vs when i was sellin the calais.
it fits fine with the wire there, ive noticed when i take it off for cleaning that the wire has made a small indentation into the rubber of the pod base,so its perfectly sealed.

i hear pods and cold air intakes are a waste of time and money, make no difference on the dyno. My mate in whyalla SA has the VZ SS and i got the SV6. He put on the SS induction airintake with the pod filter and had it dynoed before it was on and after... Guess what. No farking gain. Hes sold it and gone back to factory air box and just runs a K and N. Better off saving your money for a computer remap. My 2 cents.

Unless your dyno was travelling at the indicated speed I wouldnt expect much of an increase either.

Most of the fans for dynos only push enough air to cool the engine and not represent the actual road speed. While they can give a good indication of nearly all mods there will be a few that wont show like CAI.

i put a pod inside my airbox on my VT, courtesy of a deeper box than the VS, i managed to put in a sizeable filter. *shock, horror* i left the air temp sensor where it is. in the lid of the box. still runs fine, never been an issue.

im sure other people have said this before but im gonna say it anyway pod filter is the biggest waste of a time especialy when ppl hook it so u can see the pod filter but it will only absorb heat from the engine and u will loose power ur much better then just getin a k&n filter and then hook up a CAI,the only way a pod filter is good if it is enclosed in a airbox with a cai

well thats very funny of course it wont make a difference cause ur not gonna get much cold air just sittin on a dyno, a CAI and a K&N filter will make aprrox .2 secs diff to a car on the quater
