Hot Air??

hey guys i got a vs series 1 and when i turn on the aircon hot air comes out.... :bang: what is goin on? and it is actually HOT air. it feels like the heater is stuck on. has this happened to you guys? what do i do? it is really annoying especially round this time of year. any help wood be great :thumbsup: thanks

yer i was thinking it might need a servise.... i forgot to say when i got the car, which was only last week..... the little nob to udjust temp. was all loose.... but now i was just turning it and it went back to normal... you no how it kinda clicks as you turn it. could that mean anythin?

If your lucky and prey, it could just be an electrical prob and a quick fix.. if its got a leak and requires gas.. your in the ****, r134a (gas vs uses) sells for $34 a KG, tradesman price... then youll need a new drier and also labor to find the leak and silver braze it back up.. take it to an auto aircon place they will tell you whats wrong with it in no time.

( i cant see a car aircon using much more then 1kg of refrigerant.. if that)

hey man,
would suggest a/c lost it's gas somewhere along the line.
my suggestion to you would be take it to a radiator or air con specialist and get them to regas it. when they do ask them to add the fluro dye to the system to make it easier to pick up leaks if it happens again futher down the track.

yer i spoze i should just take it to a pro...... $$$$$$$ at least i wont die during summer... and Hsvpgts, i like the idea of the fluro dye. i will definately get that done. thanks for your help guys

no probs man.
mine was low on gas - took it to work (Holden mechanic anyway) regassed it with the dye and all good since. when you take it just say that you want it vac'd down, dye added and regassed and a quick look for any signs of leaks. if all good just drive it and see what happens. mine is still fine after 10 weeks approx.
