Problems with headlights

my headlights aint working.. 1 dude rekons it is the combination switch but i aint to sure...

we have changed the globes and the fuses so they are definitely not the problem...

so if it isnt the combination switch then what is it...

my highbeams will flash on when you pull the leaver towards you, but it won't stay on when you push it away... (so it flashes, but won't stay on) and the headlights just dont switch on...

the park lights do switch on, but thats as far as it will get... any IDEAS?????

i think your '1 dude' could be right. have you checked the relays? that'd be my next port of call....

Mate check your fog lamp relay under the bonnet. I have a VR acclaim. It doesnt have fog lights connected but the lights are connected to this fog light relay. If you dont have a connector for fog lights dont worry about it. But my fog light relay went and it started to muck up my lights. Would be replacing the switch tho if that doesnt work.
