Hey guys,
Sorry to be rude with the urgent stuff :p But car is out of action 'til I get this sorted.

Just taken out the air box, fitted the pod filter, but I can't work out how to remove the air temp sensor from the air box? Do I just break that little metal ring (I can see it being useful again in fitting to the pod filter) or is there some desperately easy way of doing it that I'm missing?

Cheers

Matt

yeah,it can be pretty hard to take out the sensor sometimes...
try gentley freeing the space around it with a small flathead screwdriver

Nothing happening... this stupid little clip will not budge.

I can always break it... i've got some little rubber washers that would fit nicely on the inside of the air tube, flush against both the sensor and the pipe. Just scared that i'm going to damage the sensor the way i'm going.

yeah just lift up those bits of metal on the ring with your screwdriver...you really shouldnt need the ring anymore anyway.

Well i got it anyway, bent out the little teeth...

I just want to keep things together as much as possible just in case I ever want to put it back.

And just for your own info, the elbow hose is quite handy. You can invert it (so the mouth points straight forward) and cut a new notch in the hose so it lines up with the one on top of the maf and make a nice join. Works perfectly with the mount I got.

I'll take a piccie when I'm done to show you.

Ok here it is.

You can see i've just flipped the elbow over and cut a new notch in it to improve the seal. Then just put in the bracket (with pre drilled temp sensor hole) and dropped on the POD.

About $33 for the filter and $20 something for the bracket, didn't need anything else so pretty cheap... Might get a better filter at some point when i'm not feeling so tight.

Well it works a treat, throttle response is much better and lower revs@high speed.. means less stupid uneccesary shift on the way down the freeway for me ;) so happy as can be :D Might invest in a K&N when I have the cash.

good stuff man...looks the goods.
u'll notice the totall effects after about 300-400ks...after the ecu has accomodated and reacted to the increase in air flow.
