Problems with cigarette lighters in calais !!!!!!!!!!!! any1 else have this problem

Me and my mate both have calais VP,VR and both our lighters in our cars dont work both back and front one any 1 else have this trouble any suggestions

are they loose? there is a connection you tighten up, behind whatever there mounted on.


i.e for the VR calais at least, cig lighter back passengers, - unscrew center console compartment cover hinge, you should have a loose bolt floating around in there. screw that up to your cig lighter assembly - should be sweet. cig lighters get loose and short out in there and blow your fuses.

yeah,ive got that problem with my vs...
ive taken the whole thing out and looked it over,i couldnt see anything wrong with it...
then i rewired it back up and it still doesnt work.
ive sorta given up on it...i couldnt be bother muckin around with a lighter when i got other issues to fix up,lol.

Take the ashtray out and undo the cig lighter connection and put a multimeter set to read volts across the internal female plug side of the connector and if it reads 12v when the key is on, its the lighter itself if it doesnt its a fuse /earthing problem.

Ive had the same problem in my vs berlina the front lighter. I have taken it out tested the connectors and they are reading fine, even tested the actually lighter in another car, decided to buy a new one after thinking the old one was faulty.
I have just given up now. I don't smoke but I only use it for my phone charger.

easily fixed, dont smoke its bad for your health.

i carry a bic for my smokes. but back to the point im going to make

Phone chargers, radar detectors, heck even "beach inflatable stuff" blowers.
