know this is something thats peed me off for ages.
the plastic 'cling wrap' that is on your black rubber strips that act as door bumpers is coming off here and there.
does anyone know if it is reasonably cheap to buy new strips from holden? how easy are they to replace and glue on new ones?
due to the age of Vr & Vs I would suppose it not worth looking around the wreckers as most door bumpers would be in the same condition.

the strips you speak of are an absolute bitch to get off...
they are held on with sikaflex and take time and patience to get off..if you try to just "rip" them off it will put ripples in your door skin.
my panel beater told me to just slowly "cut" away the strip with a metal applicator that has a slight lip bending away from the paintwork so it doesnt scratch...but its still really tricky to do.
i still havent gotten around to takin mine off...i attempted it once but got fed up.

dunno mate...my plan was to take em off and leave em off.but i doubt they'd be more than $50 for the pair, give holden a ring and see what they've got to say.

very nice equipe...looks fairly original (as in, its not overdone - some people go overboard), which is what i like... honestly, I think it may look a little imbalanced if you took those strips off...
I think its worth having a white car, especially if its getting on a bit...
mines green/silver and has a few too many scratches etc, (too bad to polish out).
still polishes up o.k but...

hey there, yeah merry christmas to you also.now depending on your strips can be easy and fairly cheap or can be a pain in the butt.i have a vsII berlina with the same prob - clear coming off. now on mine the chrome strip is actually part of a colour coated door mould. now if yours is like this you can't buy the chrome seperate you have to buy the mould and strip in one and then get it painted. if on the other hand it's justa chrome strip you can get them from holden still i think and easy enough to DIY or get panelshop to do after respray done.
