Is it worth trying to change power antenna mast on a VR Clubsport or is it just easier to replace whole power antenna
thanks

Change the mast and rope.Aeropro sell the cheapest replacement part(30-35) from supercrap or the like...new power antenna is heaps more expensive.

its a relatively easy job
take out the guard lining, unplug the antennae, poke the line and the power cables out into the guard.
the old mast should be easy enough to pull out and just be careful when putting in the new mast that you get the teeth in the right direction.
I had to pull mine totally down due to the nylon drive shaft disintergrating.

I agree with markovr, a mast and rope at $30 is cheaper than the full unit, and you have the same amount of effort to replace the mast and rope as the full unit, so why not go for the cheaper option?

One tip -- you need to remove the left side kick panel and the ECU to get to the bolt holding the antenna power unit, since it's only accessible from the inside of the car.

Cheers,
DP
