Just don't forget onroads and insurance..... To give you some idea, my car was 8.5K in immaculate condition with 150k on the clock (I just ignore the smashed in rear bumper it has now
insurance is coming...), but by the time I had it re-tinted, alarmed, onroads and a year of insurance paid, i had spent almost 11k....
Having said that, even 8.5k will get you a very nice car, don't accept anything less than immaculate condition. A calais as suggested above is more likely to be in good condition than as SS that would most likely have been flogged at some point.. plus it's just nicer anyway.
