hmm,10k would get you a pretty nice vs calais...or maybe even a ss.
id personally go for the calais as they're a good,luxurious beast with all the extras.
thats just my thoughts anyway...

And make sure it is a genuine one owner, low mileage immaculate car with complete logbooks. If buying thru a dealer ask for the name and address of the original owner - if they say they cannot do that then pass the car....there are plenty more out there.

$10K can get you a decent car.
If you have no idea what you want just go to trading post and look up all cars around your price range. You might find somthing you like that you had never though of before.

To be honest thats how I got into V8s. I was just looking to replace my old bomb and was thinking about buying a jap import. Then one day i see a VR 5L for sale. And have never looked back!

Just don't forget onroads and insurance..... To give you some idea, my car was 8.5K in immaculate condition with 150k on the clock (I just ignore the smashed in rear bumper it has now insurance is coming...), but by the time I had it re-tinted, alarmed, onroads and a year of insurance paid, i had spent almost 11k....

Having said that, even 8.5k will get you a very nice car, don't accept anything less than immaculate condition. A calais as suggested above is more likely to be in good condition than as SS that would most likely have been flogged at some point.. plus it's just nicer anyway.

yeh im looking into a vs calais
i live in pakenham south east suburbs of melb.
there is a few a vs11 for 9.9k 135000k
series 1 8.2k done 124000k
both look good sound good dunno wot!
with the series one wot problems happened?? wot date where all fixed by
