my mate has an old VR down at his farm, and he wants to fit a turbo from a VL onto it. because it is going to be a dodgy, cheap job he was wanting to run the turbo off the exaust from only one cylinder, instead of 3.

Is this doable? what kind of difference would there be from, running off 3 cylinders?

thanks

will get some pics if he ends up doing it...

he's already got a turbo and a bunch of piping,
Doubt he wants to spend the cash for a supercharger

lmao.. i dont think one cylinder would be enough to spool it.
remember it needs exhaust pressure to spin turbine..

To run a turbo off just on cylinder will provide almost no boost and as 'dlzn' said it may not even spool it.
Are you planing to run two turbos... one on each bank?
I dont think it would be worth the time.
